My new best friend!

Ok, so it's a bit sad that it's a laminator, but I'm having a lot of fun with it! The latest thing was a set of cards for littlest chicken to learn her letters. Saves a lot of paper when you can just wipe the marker off...

And I'm wondering if this is a sign of what's to come? I better start buying tough clothing...

With the previous post about sharing resources, I should of course have said 'chew the meat, spit the bones' if you know what I mean. But here's a 'bone-free' one we are really enjoying at the moment, called Power Evangelism.

Sharing resources

Hot on the tail of our eldest chicken being healed of her allergies, I thought it would be a good time to share some resources we have enjoyed. ('We' being our family, and also the group that meets in preparation for starting up a healing ministry in town.)

Bill Johnson's 'Healing, our neglected birthright.' (If you haven't read his book When Heaven Invades Earth that would be a good place to start. Or Jack Deere's Surprised By the Power of the Spirit)

Also, Curry Blake's teaching series, which has the benefit of being free!

And if you are wanting more teaching over the internet, this site has more than you'll ever be able to take advantage of! Plus there's podcasts from Derek Prince legacy radio and Bethel Church's sermon of the week....

Lessons in History

I have to share this picture with you! One of the books we love using to study history from is called 'A Child's History of the World' by Virgil Hillyer. Whenever we read a chapter my eldest chicken draws a picture to remind her of what we have learnt. Today we looked at William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings, and here is her picture of him tripping over as he steps out of his boat onto England's shore:

Freedom

Ever since our oldest girl has been a little baby we knew that we were going to be dealing with allergies. She always reacted very strongly and instantly to any dairy that came her way - with the first touch to her tongue she would start to swell and itch, her nose would run, her eyes would swell closed, her body would itch, she would have trouble breathing. It was all quite scary and we have always carried antihistamine and epipens around with us everywhere. I have always taken her food with us everywhere, because the risk of contamination elsewhere was just too great.

We have been praying for a while for freedom from allergies, and during the last week we have been sharing some exciting stories of healing with our girl. She was inspired by them and as we prayed for her she decided it was time to declare that she was healed and ask Jesus if it was the right time to try some dairy. The next morning she bounced out of bed and asked to try every bit of dairy in the house. She started with ice cream, yoghurt, butter, cheese. By the end of the day she had pretty much had in great quantity anything that had every caused her trouble, and she was absolutely fine. We even went out as a family to have ice creams the next day (a first for us!) and she relished every single lick of hers! It's a complete miracle, and we are so grateful to Jesus for healing her body - like he said, he's come to set the captives free.

A weekend at the farm

This time, not the sister's parents-in-law's farm, but the sister-in-law's parents farm. Clear? Well the weather wasn't, but we didn't mind a bit. There was enough sunshine to setup a secret club in the treehouse. I bet the secret seven weren't bothered by an elderly horse seeking apples in their clubhouse! And there was lots of knitting, the odd stroll in the bush, exploring secret caves, and just generally watching the water drip from the trees. Very relaxing.

Birthdays...

Happy Birthday to my big girl (a.k.a. Robin Hood) - 8 today!

In honour of the birthday girl who knows her own mind, we are having a day which is decidedly UN-pink, not at all pretty, does not contain flowers or fairies, and I'm doing my darnedest not to call her cute (soooo embarrassing, mum!). I will call her beautiful, though, because she is.
